Obituary of June Ethel Fabbri

FABBRI, June

A Portsmouth native of 89 years, June Fabbri passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021 after a brave stand against cancer.  June lived a full life, touching many along the way.  Not only was she a dedicated mother and grandmother, but she also formed lasting bonds over the years with several other children whom she tended to early on.  Her home was always welcoming — a place where friends would drop in for a visit, over a good cup of coffee or to share in some of June’s wonderful homemade dishes.  During summer days, she could be found tending to her beautiful lawn and garden flowers.  She loved walking, whether in years gone by, with her little dog Mac, or more recently as part of the annual Alzheimer’s walk.  June was also a dedicated Queen’s employee, bringing a smile to students and co-workers alike.  She continued to proctor exams well into retirement.  For over 80 years, June’s passion was singing in the St. John’s choir.  When you find yourself missing her during Sunday services, just look up, where she'll have joined a choir of angels from above.

June’s spirit will live on through her sons, Joe (Denise) and Marc (Louise); granddaughters Stephanie (Luca) and Beverley; great granddaughters Aurora and Adriana; siblings Dod, Cora, Barb, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.  Awaiting her in heaven will be her loving husband Albert, with their little dog Mac at his side.

Due to Covid pandemic restrictions a small private ceremony will be held at Cataraqui Cemetery.  Once Covid restrictions have eased, friends and family will be received at St. John's Anglican Church in Portsmouth. Notification of date and times for future arrangements will be announced.  Donations in memory of June can be made to St John's Anglican Church or to Cancer Research Institute at Queens University.
