Obituary of Vassiliki Vellis

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vassiliki Vellis (nee Nodarou), who passed away peacefully at the Providence Care Hospital, during the early morning hours of Wednesday May 19, 2021.

Born in Katakolo, Greece, August 14, 1923, loving wife to the predeceased Andreas Vellis, mother to six children, Kyriaki, Lycourgos, Dimitrios (Maria), Theodora (Lampros), Christina (Panagiotis) and Gerasimos. Grandmother to 12 grandchildren, 17 great – grandchildren and 6 great- great grandchildren. Dearly missed by other family members and many friends in Kingston, Montreal and Greece. She will always be remembered as a loving person to her family whom she cherished above all! She was generous in spirit and caring to anyone who she met, language barriers did not prevent her from welcoming you into her home and her life.

Vassiliki was and will forever remain in the heart of those who loved her, a great example and a true representation of a beautiful human being.

Due to Covid restrictions, there will be a private Mass of Christian Burial in the Greek Orthodox Church. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated.
