Leeman, Richard Charles
1937-2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard at 83 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the loving husband to Dianne Hathway of 25 years and former spouse to Connie Leeman. Amazing father to Jackie Leeman and Steven Leonard, and stepfather to David (Linda) Van der Horden, Ruth (Malcolm) MacNeil, Laura (David) Maillie and Eric (Lori) Van der Horden. Superb grandfather to Landon, Caleb, and Carter Pollock and Claire and Ana Leonard. From a family of 13, predeceased by his siblings Jim, Noreen, Myrtle and Bill. Survived by Art (Gail) Leeman, Beryle Ellerbeck (Clare), Mary Derue (Jim), Hellen Tolles (Ron), Carmel Irwin (Jack), Les Leeman (Judy), Vera Stark (Doug) and Jack Leeman (Linda). Richard will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Son of deceased Annie and William Leeman.
Richard drove transport for 40 plus years but was an avid and respected horseman in the Harness Horse Community. His true passion was family and his horses.
We have lost a truly lovely man who will remain in many hearts forever.
There will be a drive-up visitation held at the James Reid Funeral Home on Monday May 10th, from 10am until 12:30pm. Guests must remain in their vehicles and the James Reid staff will direct you as you arrive. The funeral service will be at 1pm in the James Reid Funeral Home Chapel and is private due to Covid-19 restrictions. The service will be livestreamed, click here for livestream.
