There are many highlights in a long life that was well lived. June met her future husband Bev at Sydenham High School. They married in 1954 and built a good life together filled with lots of great, shared memories before Bev’s passing in 2010. Their marriage spanned Bev’s air force and teaching careers, the birth of their three children, June’s re-entry into the workforce in the late 1970’s, the birth of their 5 grandchildren, as well as her and Bev’s many shared experiences volunteering at Echo Lake Youth Camp and various churches throughout the years. In their later years they attended Riverside United Church in Yarker where they enjoyed assisting with many church dinners at which June was able to highlight her pie making talent. June was also proudly awarded for her role on The Riverside UCW committee. Growing up visiting her grandparent’s family farm, on the property now know as The Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area, June developed a love of animals. In particular, June loved dogs, a kindness she passed on to all three of her sons, as well as her 5 grandchildren. June owned many dogs throughout her lifetime including Red and Mike, the beloved Amber, and in the last few years, Mr. Moto. June was especially proud of her participation in the Canadian Kennel Club dog shows with Mike. There are many fun stories and pictures of those dog show years that remain our favourites. We will miss our mother, and grandma but we take comfort that she is reunited with her husband Bev and all those she loved who have passed before.
Due to COVID health restrictions, the graveside service at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens will be for the immediate family only. We wish to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers at this time.
