Obituary of Robert Wayne MacCaskill

ROBERT W. MACCASKILL

Suddenly, on April 23, 2021, at the age of 53, Robert was taken from us way too soon.

Robert was the beloved husband and best friend of Lesley.

He was the cherished son of Sylvia and the late Wayne MacCaskill, loving brother of Catherine (Craig), Kent (Sherri) and Karen (Shawn), and favourite uncle and great uncle to his many nieces and nephews.

Robert was raised on a hobby farm in South Stormont where he developed his love for animals and the outdoors.  He had a keen interest in his genealogy and took great pride in his Scottish heritage.  Rob’s favourite event was the Glengarry Highland Games, where he could be found socializing with his friends, former classmates and neighbours.

Robert obtained his nursing degree and was a caring and compassionate nurse for over 28 years.  His calm demeanour and easy sense of humour was welcomed by his patients and co-workers alike.

Rob loved working on projects at his house in Kingston, surrounded by some of the best loved cats in the world.  A loyal Patriots fan, he often would cheer on his team while watching the game with his many friends at the Portsmouth Tavern.

Above all, Rob will be remembered for his sharp wit and contagious sense of humour.  The life of the party, he was always able to lift the spirits of everyone around him.  He will be missed dearly and remembered fondly by all who had the honour of knowing him.

There will be no services at this time.  A memorial celebration will be planned at a future date.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Kingston Humane Society or Canadian Cancer Society in Robert's memory.
