Joan and Dave were honourary Aunt and Uncle to our two sons for many years. Dave, in fact, was Simon's Godfather. I have a few favourite memories of Joan. One is of her in our living room in Sydenham. Joan is on her hands and knees on the floor playing with Jordan and his play zoo one Sunday afternoon. Joan admitted to us recently that she and Dave would drop by for a visit on a Sunday afternoon knowing that we would invite them to stay for dinner. Then after dinner, Joan or I would wash the dishes and Dave would dry. We also remember with fondness their 40th Anniversary noon meal surprise with Peter, Susan, Jennifer and Christopher followed by a great multitude of their friends who came to share their love and wish them well. Joan has been so lonely these past many years since Dave has been gone, yet she sought to be of use to God daily. While her family and friends will miss her deeply, we all know that her happiness will be fulfilled as she sees God face to face and is reunited with Dave. Goodbye dear friend.
