Vera GOOD (née Smith)
March 15, 1920 - March 3, 2021
Grateful for her long, full life, Vera passed away just days before her 101st birthday.
Vera marvelled at the changes that occurred in her century-plus lifetime and approached every day with purpose and appreciation. She loved to paint, knit, crochet, solve countless word puzzles and go for a daily walk. Her interest in people and wonderful memory of their stories endeared her to others, and she is remembered for her kindness, determination, good humour, and commitment to her family and friends.
Born and raised in Kingston, Vera married her beloved Hugh, a career military officer, in 1945. Together they raised three sons and built a great network of friends while being posted across Canada and in Germany and settling in Cobourg. Vera returned to Kingston and lived her final years in comfort and with contentment thanks to the kindness and care given by the Birches/Waterford staff and her Bayshore companions.
Vera will be dearly missed by family Peter (Jane), Douglas (Cathy), Michael (Mary Anne), by her grandchildren Allison (Anthony), Patrick, Caitlin (CJ), Michelle (Mathew) and her great-grandchildren Carter, Hugo, Shea and Cooper.
A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity would be appreciated.
