Obituary of Pauline Violet Popkie

POPKIE, Pauline Violet passed away unexpectedly at Providence Care Hospital in Kingston, ON, on Friday, December 20, 2019, at the age of 51. Pauline was born in Pembroke, ON, on June 1, 1968 to parents Gilbert and Beverly (nee Ledgerwood) Popkie. She will be fondly remembered by her loving spouse of 32 years, Kevin Nickerson and her son Tyler Nickerson. She will also be missed by her sisters Shirley Hopper (Phil), Brenda St. Pierre (Bob), brother Michael Popkie, father-in-law Arthur Nickerson (late Sandra), sister-in-law Sherry Nickerson as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family extends sincere gratitude to all of the staff and her caregivers at Providence Care Hospital for the kindness and compassion provided to Pauline and her family during her stay there. Cremation will take place at James Reid Crematorium. A celebration of Pauline’s life will be held on the day of her birthday, June 1, 2020 with the location and time to be announced at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to The Arthritis Society or Kidney Foundation in Pauline’s memory.
