Obituary of John Joseph Murray

Murray, John Joseph
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at the Providence Manor on Monday, December 16th 2019, in his 77th year. Beloved husband of Patricia (Pigeau) Murray. Proud father of Michelle (Dave) McParlan, Ryan (Marcie) Murray, Shannon (Jeff) Davenport. Cherished grandfather of Ainsley (Sam), Adele, Cameron, Adelyn, Anna, William & Evelyn. Dear brother of Rose Marie Murray. Survived by caring brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. Special thank you to his life-long, devoted friends Bob & Heather Gilmour, and Roger Cauley. The family acknowledges with gratitude the wonderful staff of Montreal 5 for their compassionate care. He is predeceased by his parents Josephine & Mickey Murray, his brother Ken, his sister Joan (Bob) Wray. John built his career at Alcan in Resource Planning. After retirement, he continued to keep busy - building tables, backyard decks, or refurbishing furniture. A keen interest in sports, both as a participant & a spectator, he instilled this love in his grandchildren - but was never successful in recruiting them as Blackhawks fans. An avid golfer, he was pleased to have accomplished two holes-in-one. John will be remembered for his dimpled smile, his infectious laugh & his ever present sense of humour. Friends and family are invited to a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph's Catholic Church (392 Palace Rd.) on Saturday, December 21 at 1O:30 am. Inurnment St. Mary's Cemetery.
