Obituary of Ruth Gurnsey

GURNSEY, Ruth Evelyn (nee Hilsden) passed away peacefully at Providence Manor on Friday, November 15, 2019, at the age of 93. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Frederick Joseph Gurnsey, brother Harry Hilsden, and parents Norm and Lois Hilsden. Ruth is survived by her daughter Judy Wykes, sons Rick, John, Michael, and Paul Gurnsey, and grandchildren Dave, John, Nyssa, Alex, Emily, Flynn, Robin, Jane, Susan, and Esmé. Her devotion to family, love of children, and her dedication to those in need made the world a better place. Ruth's unbounded energy, adventurous spirit, and love of life will be missed by all who knew her. Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of her life to be held on Saturday, November 23, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the JAMES REID RECEPTION AND CELEBRATION CENTRE, 1900 John Counter Blvd, Kingston, Ontario. (Please enter the Reception Centre from the rear parking lot). In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to do so, may make a memorial donation in Ruth's name to Helen Tufts Nursery School (by cheque only, please), or a charity of their choice.
