Obituary of Kenneth Francis Tyers

TYERS, Kenneth Francis
(Retiree of Corrections Canada) 
On Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Kingston Health Sciences Center in his 85th year.  Ken leaves behind his beloved wife of 61 years Carol (nee Holsgrove) along with his children Terri (Angel), Tim (Cindy), Karen (Sterling) and Julie.  Predeceased by son Rob (1985), Grandfather to Travis (Erin), Sasha (Scott Harrison), Trevor, Brandon, and Benjamin.  Great grandpa to Toby, Sophie, Grace and Case.  A proud member of Albion Lodge #109 in Harrowsmith and Kingston Amateur Radio Club.  He was a quiet sort of hero… raised a family, supported his community, and worked long hours as a public servant. He coached a gazillion kids in baseball, donated gallons of blood, served as a volunteer fire-fighter in the 60's, an ambulance driver in Toronto in the 50's and taught us how to be good people.  Cremation has taken place with a private family interment at a later date.  In lieu of flowers donations to University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (Cancer Center of Southeastern Ontario) would be appreciated.
