It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Alan McNabb Grant at the age of 79. Loving husband to Janis Cameron Grant (nee Blue). Father of Gillian Grant and Jennifer Grant. Grandfather to Sierra, Alexis and Océanne.

Alan was very involved with his community as Chairman of APEO (Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario), Chairman of the Board of the Kingston General Hospital, Executive Director and President of Hospice Kingston, Chairman of the Marine Museum of Kingston, President of the Kingston Symphony Association, Chairman of the Board for Museum of Healthcare, President of the Gallery Association (Agnes Etherington) and founding member of Orchestra Kingston, which began as chamber music in his home.

An avid athlete, he was a lifelong sailor – on board his yacht Peregrine –  and enjoyed swimming, cycling, and speed skating.

Visitation will be held at the James Reid Funeral Home (1900 John Counter Blvd.) on Sunday November 17, 2019 from 1-1:50pm with a service in the James Reid Funeral Home Chapel at 2pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Kingston would be greatly appreciated.
