Obituary of Robert James McAllister
Robert James McAllister, Jim, eldest of nine, born to Lillian and Jim McAllister of Joyceville, June 18, 1930, passed quietly into his Maker`s arms on Sunday, October 6, 2019.
A man of great faith, Jim was devoted the last thirty and more years to his community of faith, ERMUC, and prior, to congregations in Barrie, Willowdale, Cataraqui, and Belleville.
Wed to the love of his life, Beryl, for over seventy years. Father of Deborah (Paul Currie), grandfather of Adam, Mark, and Tara (Matt Macfarlane), great-grandfather of Robert James.
Brother of Doris Laurie (Stuart), Russell McAllister (Joanne), Jack McAllister (Pat), Sylvia McAllister (Bill), David McAllister (Sylvia) and Howard McAllister (Lorraine). Predeceased by sisters Iola Orr (Glen) Vera Dickson (the late Lloyd) and by sisters and brothers in law Thelma and Don Smith, Elwood Cummings, Irene and Mac Cochrane. Will also be missed by his sister in law Theresa Cummings and his many nieces and nephews. His gentleness and ready smile will be missed by many friends.
Jim's family will receive friends at the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston, ON, on Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 pm. A celebration of his life and love will be held at EDITH RANKIN MEMORIAL UNITED CHURCH, 4080 Bath Road, Kingston, ON, on Friday, October 11, 2019 at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Edith Rankin Memorial United Church, or a charity of your choice.
