Obituary of Ellen Wilson Brodie

BRODIE, Ellen Wilson-
It is with heavy hearts and much love that we announce the passing of our incredible mother Ellen Wilson Brodie (McPherson) in Hamilton, on Thursday, September 12, 2019.
Beloved wife to the late Steve Brodie and devoted mother to Elizabeth (John), Stuart (Anik) and Gordon.   Grandmother to Stephanie, Megan, Caleb and Isabel as well as great-grandmother to Alison, McKenzie and Henry.  A beloved sister to James, Margaret, Isabel (deceased) and Frank.  Aunt to numerous nieces, nephews and their children.  Mum lived a full and happy life after being born in Paisley, Scotland and later moving to Canada.  She was a lover of music and had a beautifully trained soprano voice.  As a fiercely devout Christian, mum's faith and dedication to prayer were her foundation and compass.  She was always loyal and committed to many, many close friends.  As a mother, she consistently set the example of loving others and giving to those less fortunate.  She taught us to show grace, to assume the best in people, to keep positive and to never spite others. Family and friends will be received at JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Boulevard, on Saturday, September 21 from 12:00 pm to 12:50 pm. The funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 1:00 pm with Reverend Adrian Collins officiating. Interment at Cataraqui Cemetery will be followed by a reception in the James Reid Reception Centre.
It is with great pride, admiration and boundless love that we say, "Farewell Mum.  Until we meet again."
