December 31, 1941-August 2, 2019

After a lengthy and courageous battle with bladder cancer, Alzheimers Disease and Diabetes, Fred passed away peacefully with family by his side.  He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 53 years Barb (Hobbs), his son Todd (Kelly) and daughter Karla (Alastair Coleman).  Affectionately known as "Poppa" to his grandchildren Collin and Laura Johnson; Leah and Lacey Coleman.  Fred will always be lovingly remembered by his siblings, Arne (Kay) Johnson, Arvid (Pat) Johnson, Alma (Ken Moore), Audrey (Ken Green), and by many nieces, nephews and their families.  He is predeceased by his parents Art and Elsa Johnson, in-laws Cindy and Gord Hobbs, his brother Tony, and sisters Anna Knapp, Alice Presseault and Allana Kotowych.  According to Fred's wishes, cremation is in the care of James Reid Crematorium.  You are invited to share memories of "Ferd", "Fearless", Coke", "FFFFred", "My Handyman" and "Trucker Johnson" during a Memorial Reception at JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, RECEPTION AND CELEBRATION CENTRE, 1900 John Counter Boulevard, on Monday, August 12 between the hours of 11:00 am and 1:00 pm.  (Please enter Reception Centre from the rear parking lot).  A private family inurnment will take place at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens.  As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Bladder Cancer Canada or Alzheimer Society in Fred's memory.  Our "Energizer Bunny" has finally come to rest.
