RITCHIE, Shirley Mildred (nee Allinson)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Shirley at Fairmount Home on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, in her 88th year. Shirley was the beloved wife of the late Warren King Ritchie. Loving mother of Warren Thomas Ritchie of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Dawn Garrison and her husband Les of Wilton. Adoring grandmother of Laura Ritchie of Royal Oak, MI, Adam Ritchie of Denver, CO and Leah Garrison of Camden East. Shirley was predeceased by her parents William and Gladys (Abbott) Allinson, brothers William, Harvey, and Robert, and sisters Helen, Irene, Mary, Marie and Audrey. She will sadly missed by her numerous nieces and nephews. A heartfelt thank you is extended to the wonderful staff and volunteers of Fairmount Home, for the years of dedicated and compassionate care that Shirley received while struggling with dementia. Friends will be received at the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., on Sunday, June 2, 2019 from 3:00 – 5:00 pm. A service celebrating her life will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Monday, June 3, 2019 at 11:00 am followed by a reception in the James Reid Reception Centre. For those who wish, donations may be made to Fairmount Home (by cheque only) or to the Kingston Humane Society in Shirley’s memory.
