Obituary of Roger Heard

HEARD, Roger

June 3, 1930 – April 15, 2019

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear Father, after a brief illness, at the Kingston General Hospital, at the age of 88.  Roger was predeceased by his beloved wife of 55 years Shirley.  Loving Father of Joanne Brown (Jim) and Heather Melvin (Shaun McAlister).  Proud Grandfather of Adam Eves (Melanie) and Shawn Melvin and Great grandfather of Alayah and Emma Eves.  Roger was predeceased by his brother Ron Heard and will be sadly missed by Al Melvin.  A heartfelt thank you is extended to the nurses and PCA’s of Connell 10 at KGH for their compassion and care that Roger received and to the staff and caregivers at the Waterford who provided him with a loving home over the last couple of years.  Resting at the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston.  Friends will be received on Thursday, April 18, 2019  from 6-8 pm.  Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Friday, April 19, 2019 at 1:00 pm, followed by a reception in the James Reid Reception and Celebration Centre.  For those who wish donations in Roger's memory may be made to the Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, in lieu of flowers.
