Obituary of Thomas Bernard Gorman
GORMAN, Thomas Bernard (Bernie), CD – Age 75, passed peacefully at KGH on April 9th, 2019 surrounded by his family. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Linda and five children, Tom (Karen), Juanita, Alex (Laura) and Diahann (Josh), step-daughter Kelly, his twelve grandchildren Jonathan, Adam (Kaitlyn), Adrianna, Emily, Jordan, Jack, Nathan, Trevor, Ryan, Connor, Ella and Madison. Predeceased by his father, Thomas, mother Louise, brothers Ron and Danny and sister Helen.
Born and raised in Newfoundland, he joined the Canadian Armed Forces Black Watch Royal Highlands Regiment at the age of 18, as an infantryman. He served four tours overseas and deployed to Cypress, Egypt on a six-month UN peacekeeping mission. He later remustered to Supply Tech and served in CFB Gagetown, CFB Baden-Soellingen, CFB Borden, CFB Trenton and CFB Ottawa, finally retiring from the Princess of Wales Own Regiment in Kingston as a reservist after 32 years of service to his country. One of his most memorable moments was meeting HRH Diana, Princess of Wales.
