Obituary of Dorothy Jowett
JOWETT, Dorothy (nee Cooper)
December 27, 1929 – March 9, 2019
Dorothy, peacefully passed away at the Providence Care Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family, at the age of 89. She is reunited with her beloved husband and dancing partner Stan, who predeceased her in 1995. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Christine (David), Linda, Jackie (Fred) and Karen (Kevin), grandchildren Kaley, Kaitlin, Madison (Brian) and Conner and great-grandson Eli. Dorothy will be sadly missed by her sisters Margaret (Bob), Betty (Derek), and Irene (Leslie), brother Robert (Lynne) and numerous nieces and nephews in Canada and England. Dorothy was predeceased by her dear sisters Muriel and Edna and brothers Leonard and Leslie. A heartfelt thank you is extended to Dr. Flannigan and all the staff at the Providence Care Hospital for the compassionate care that Mom received during her final days.
In keeping with Dorothy’s wishes cremation will be followed by a Celebration of her life on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm in the James Reid Funeral Home Reception and Celebration Centre, 1900 John Counter Blvd, Kingston (entering from the back parking lot doors). Dorothy loved all types of animals and to honour a life well lived, donations in her memory may be made to the Sandy Pine’s Wildlife Centre, Napanee.
