Peacefully and gracefully Mom passed away on Sunday, February 24th with family by her side.  After courageously deciding the time had come to cease dialysis treatment, she 'owned' her decision until the end. The strength and bravery Mom displayed will forever be admired by her 2 daughters Tracy (Patrick), Andrea (Martin), sister Wendy (Doug), granddaughters Abby and Tessa and best friend Mary.  Many family and friends had the opportunity to see and speak to Mom personally, sharing sentiments and memories along with hugs and kisses. It was beautiful. A sad time shared with pride for the strongest woman we have ever known. Thank you all who brightened Moms day in her already sunny private room at Kingston General Hospital over the last 2 weeks.  Special thanks to KGH staff Connell 10, including Jennifer and Tim. As well, Kingston Hospice staff who provided Mom (and family) with continued support and respite. A celebration of life planned for late spring will be announced. Anyone wishing to honour Mom can do so by donating to Kingston Hospice (Hospice Residence & Palliative Care Centre) as they fundraise to build a Palliative Care Hospice unit in Kingston.
