Obituary of Dr. Carl Croy
CROY, Carl Roger DVM –
March 18, 1946 – March 23, 2017
Passed away suddenly at Kingston General Hospital on Thursday, March 23, 2017. Born in Stonewall, Manitoba and raised in New Denver, British Columbia, Carl studied veterinary medicine at the University of Guelph where he met his life partner and classmate, Anne (neé McLeish). Carl practiced in Toronto and Brooklin, Ontario before opening his own practice in St. Catharines. In retirement (Niagara-on-the-Lake, followed by Kingston in 2004), Carl pursued his interests in heritage restoration of limestone dwellings, landscaping and music. Carl is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Anne Croy, DVM, PhD; his cherished sons, Andy (Jennifer) of Brantford and Roger (Janice) of Hamilton; his beloved grandson, Kieran; and his well-loved nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by his younger brother, James (Valerie), Val des Monts, QC. Reception and Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 2pm – 4pm at the University Club, Queen’s University Campus, 168 Stuart Street, Kingston, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to The Distinguished Lectureship in Reproductive Health, Faculty of Health Sciences, Queen’s University; OVC Pet Trust, University of Guelph; or other Animal Support Charity would be appreciated by the family.
