Hugh was one of my favorite anesthetists during my 35 yr surgical career. He was calm and confident with a twinkle in his eye and a great sense of humor. Sorry for your loss. Steve Hall

Ann Brown and Family, Please accept our deepest sympathy on the sad news of Hugh's passing . We shared a friendship as we went thru medical post-graduate training at McGill , as medical residents in the early 1960s . Hugh , I and others shared apartments for 2 years then. Hugh with his superb sense of humour and social skills helped us all along. As an anesthesiologist he had a very responsible and stressful job but off duty he seemed very relaxed . He loved organizing parties and at one of them he introduced Margaret to me . Enough said! His academic career at Queen's was outstanding . More importantly we remember his generosity and warmth to his patients and friends . We will be thinking of you on Monday. Alan and Margaret Vost , Poimte-Claire , QC.

I am sorry to hear the news of Hugh. I had heard from Carol Pattee that his health was failing.
Hugh lived with our family in Montreal while he attended McGill and was a big influence in my decision to become a doctor. My condolences to family and friends. Michael Stanger MDCM Victoria.
