Husband of Audrey (nee Craig); Father of Duncan (Lindsey Patterson), Victoria (Andrew Blakelock) and Giles (Nicole Conduit). Grandfather of: Finlay, Seamus, Eirlys and Madeline. He was born in London, England, lived for a time in Ilesha, Nigeria and was educated at Great Walstead School (Sussex) and the Leys School (Cambridge). He qualified as a doctor at the London Hospital. He was active in retirement and enjoyed wood-working, boat-building, growing vegetables and paddling his own kayaks on Sydenham Lake. Throughout his illness, he remained the person that he always had been: kind, careful, optimistic and infinitely curious. He was deeply grateful for the social interactions and care that he received from: Dr. Chris Booth, Dr. Ray Viola, Kristi, Johanne, Michelle, Tammy and the reception staff at the Cancer Centre of Eastern Ontario at Kingston General Hospital. His family would like to thank Dr. Natalie Kondor and Dr. Nancy Luong along with the nurses from St. Elizabeth Health Care, especially Carolyn Abrams, for helping him die peacefully at home with his family.
