I remember a black and white photo in the family album. It featured four doctors dressed as nurses. I think they were cradling a dummy baby. I remember my mum John’s younger sister telling me about it. I think it was an end of term hospital do. The male doctors were officially reprimanded for ‘inappropriate’ behaviour. But then the person who chastised them said “Off the record, well done.”
So I guess it’s time to put in on record.
We are listening, with love xxxx

Audrey, Victoria, Giles and Duncan. I was so sorry to hear about John. He was a great mentor and colleague for me during our years together at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital delivering babies and working together in the OR. He always responded to those numerous late night/early morning calls for help with such grace and dignity. He was very well rounded and it was always interesting conversing with him on the many topics of the day. He often made quite the presence showing up at medical functions in his kilt. I know he had a deep love and pride in his family and I'm sure it was of great comfort to him to be at home with all of you during his final moments. Sincere condolences.
Dr. Don and Shelley Deegan

I would love to know what kilt / tartan Uncle John had. I know we had Scottish heritage on both sides of my family. I think it is Burn’s Night today. Maybe we could do a little Scottish dancing in memory of Uncle John and my gran, Marjorie Gwynne Jones (nee Thomson). We’re are family, wherever we are in the world. xxxx
