Edward Imke VanderVeer

August 2, 1939                       -                       February 11, 2023

Joure, Friesland, the Netherlands                     Kingston, Ontario.

Surrounded by his loving family, Hennie’s much beloved husband Ed has gone to the everlasting arms of Christ our Savior.

Wonderful devoted father of Jack (Anita), MaryAnn (Jeff) and Michael. Much-admired Grampa of Sam (Erin), Kyle (Caitlin), Elysha (Jonathan), Marc (Hollie) and Victoria. Thrilled Great Grampa to Edward, Kace, Maggie, Annalyse, Sadie and Benjamin.

Ed's love and his kind spirit impacted everyone he met. He gave first priority to God,  then to family and after that to his career. Ed started with Bell Canada in 1961 as a mechanic, and he retired as an Executive Vice President of Bell Canada International.  Ed volunteered in support of children and youth, housing-challenged persons, the Christian Reformed Church in North America and First Nations - settler reconciliation. Everywhere he went, Ed became a valued friend.

We thank God for his grace in 62 years of marriage. God is our strength and comfort.

Special thanks to our devoted neighbors James and Kim, and to the Sydenham 3 team at Providence Manor for their loving, compassionate care. 

A visitation will be held at the James Reid Funeral Home Friday February 17, 2-4 pm, 7-9 pm

A Celebration of Life will be held at First Christian Reformed Church on Saturday February 18, 11:00 am
