Dad's unconditional love for his family has been unending, often taken for granted, yet not going unnoticed nor received without gratitude and love. His ongoing words of encouragement, wisdom, concern and guidance have helped overcome even the greatest obstacles we've faced. His wonderful sense of humour touched us all and made light of even the darkest times. Dad swallowed his (often well-deserved) disapproval and disappointment and supported us in the decisions made and paths we chose to follow.
Dad faced this terrible degenerative disease with courage and dignity ever remaining the "gentleman" until the very end. To lose him gradually over the past six years has been devastating beyond imagination, yet he left us with many special memories not only of the distant past but also during this sad time. Losing my sister Nikki added to his anguish and the burden he had to bear.
Always engaging with the "young" ones, drawing, playing games, telling stories, Dad loved each and everyone of us dearly. It is hard to imagine a world without his physical presence, but we know he will be with us all in spirit, forever in our hearts, watching over us always.
