Obituary of Les Forkes

Leslie Frank Forkes - January 11, 1950 - October 19, 2021

Les left us on October 19, 2021, surrounded by the love of his family after a very short battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend Martha (nee Stanley), his sons Matthew (Haza) and Kyle (Lisa) and adored granddaughters Isabella and Winnie. Also left to mourn are brothers Steven (Coral) and Tyler (Dawn), mother in law Dorathy and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Les touched many lives over the course of his 32 year teaching career. He had a soft spot for R.G Sinclair where he attended as a child, began his teaching career and where he retired as principal.

Les was an avid sportsman all his life. He coached and played hockey and baseball at many levels. He loved golf and was a member at Amherstview Golf course for over 20 years where he made many friends. He was a diehard New York Yankees, New York Giants and Montréal Canadiens fan and loved bantering over the years with adversaries.

Cremation has already taken place. A private funeral will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021, at 3 p.m. Those wishing to register for the livestream please  CLICK HERE
