It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary, in her 78th year, at
Arbour Heights, Kingston, following a lengthy battle with Parkinsons.
Mary is survived by her devoted husband Lloyd of 54 years, and sons Christopher
(Jennifer) and Colin (Patti). Mary was very proud of her grandchildren, Christin Wilson,
Haley Wilson, Dylan Hanna, and Lauren Wilson. Mary was also blessed with a great
granddaughter Jocelyn Mary Wilson. Mary is predeceased by her father and mother
Edwin and Mary James, sister Helen Gardiner (late Ivan), and brother Harold James
(Nancy). Mary will be missed by her nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and especially
her close friend and sister-in-law Lorna Affleck.

Mary was born in Almonte ON, and was raised on the James homestead, near Union
Hall, in Lanark county. She graduated from Carleton Place High School and went on to
graduate in 1964 as a registered nurse at Brockville General Hospital. Mary served as a
supervisor at the Smiths Falls General Hospital, until marriage to Lloyd in 1966. Moving
to Ottawa she was among the first team of nurses at the new child care program at the
Royal Ottawa Hospital, and continued there until 1972. Mary and Lloyd then moved to
Kingston, where they owned a Color Your World paint & decorating centre until
retirement in 1997.

In 1998 Mary began helping her boys in their new venture, A World of Rentals. She
enjoyed her many flower gardens at her Kingston Mills home on the Rideau Canal.
Mary attended St Mark’s Anglican Church for many years.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the excellent staff at Arbour Heights, and
to Dr Katherine Kilpatrick, who cared for Mary for the past 5 years
