Obituary of Bryn EVANS

EVANS, Bryn January 8, 1942 - March 14, 2016 Peacefully at Kingston General Hospital on Monday, March 14, 2016, at the age of 74, after a long struggle with Lymphoma. He will be dearly missed and thought of constantly by his best friend & wife of 51 yrs., Carol (Allore), daughter Angie Marcotte (Ron), son Greg Evans (Christa Moran). "Pops" adored his grandchildren, Shae Noelle Evans, Brynn Marie Evans & Joshua Evan Marcotte; they loved him and have wonderful memories of weekends at the cottage with Pops. Bryn was predeceased by parents Capt. Fred Evans & Marion (Ostrosser) and is big brother to Susanna Davis (Leigh Barnum) and Tom Evans. Fondly remembered by Carol's family - Shirley & Robert Thompson, Betty & Bob Bronson, Paul & Sandy Allore, Janice & Rick Gray & Elaine & Jack Dorey, as well as many nieces and nephews. Bryn enjoyed a great life which included his 42 yr. career, as a partner with Thomson & Jemmett Ins. Ltd., the hockey team, golf & curling activities - especially all the "locker room" humor that came with each of these, as well as his beloved cottage on Simcoe Island and the friends that gathered there. Bryn & Family want to thank Dr. Greg Scott, Dr. John Matthews & Tracy Froess of the KGH Cancer Centre; Dr. Harle and her Pallative Care Team , Kidd 9 , KGH, for their kindness and care throughout this long journey. At Bryn's request, cremation has taken place. There will be a Celebration of Life at CATARAQUI GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB, on Sunday, March 20, 2016, between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., with Words of Remembrance commencing at 3:00 p.m. In Bryn's memory, charitable contributions made payable to: University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (for the Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario), would be gratefully acknowledged by his family. Contributions may be made at the James Reid Funeral Home or by calling the funeral home at 613-544-3411.
