Obituary of Douglas Richard SCOTT

SCOTT, Douglas Richard (Rick) Fleet Mechanic, Kingston Police Force After a long and difficult battle, the Lord called Rick home on Monday, March 7, 2016. We will never forget the strength, dignity, courage and grace he showed over the last number of months. Our love for Rick will never end. Rick meant so much to so many, and he will be sadly missed. Rick was a loving, supportive, and dedicated father and husband, who is survived by his high school sweetheart of 37 years and loving wife of 28, Linda and their two sons Matthew and Michael (Olivia Lackey). Rick was son to Bob (pre-deceased) and Ellen Scott, and brother to Kevin Scott (Lori), Jannette Dalcourt (Dave), and Melinda Scott-McAuliffe (Chris), and two special people, Bruce and Sheila Duesharm. Rick was son- in- law to Sonny (pre-deceased) and Donna Casford, and brother- in -law to Randy and Lorrie Scott, Randy and Liane Casford, and Brian and Sandy Begbie. He was loved dearly by all his nieces and nephews; Jeremy, Kaitlyn, Michelle, Melissa, Logan, Nicholas, Benjamin, Cole, Kyle, Evan, Jessa, Bobby, Ross, Sam and Liam. The family would like to express their appreciation for the kindness and care given to Rick by so many different Nurses and Doctors at the Kingston General Hospital. A visitation and service will be held at the HARROWSMITH FREE METHODIST CHURCH, located at 3876 Harrowsmith Road (1 km east from Highway # 38), on Saturday, March 12, 2016. Visitation will take place from 12:30 pm until 1:50 pm. followed by a service in Celebration of Rick's life, at 2:00 pm. Rick's friend and Pastor, Reverend David Moran will conduct the service. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Autism Speaks, Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada or, the Harrowsmith Free Methodist Church in memory of Rick.
