Peacefully at the Kingston General Hospital, surrounded by the love of family, on Friday, March 4, 2016. Ron Curtis, in his 88th year, beloved husband of Shirley (nee McLaughlin) for 66 years. Dear father of Jane Scott (Robert) of Pembroke, Diane Johnson (Ralph) of Algonquin Highlands and Paul Curtis (Sheila) of Laurentian Hills. Loving grandfather of Holly Murree, Sally Parker (Mike), Kurt Dehaan (Kim), Shirleen Dehaan, Heidi Curtis (Matt), and to 10 great grandchildren. Survived by his sister Betty Lindenas of Port Colborne. Predeceased by 6 siblings. Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Boulevard, on Tuesday, March 8, from 12:30 pm until 1:20 pm. The funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 1:30 pm, with Archdeacon Bill Clarke officiating. All are invited to a reception in the Reception Centre at the conclusion of the service. Cremation at James Reid Crematorium will be followed by a private family graveside service at Cataraqui Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, or the Alzheimer Society of Kingston, in memory of Mr. Curtis.
