Koenders, Barbara “Star”

1927-2018

Star passed away peacefully at Arbour Heights Nursing Home on July 14, 2018 at the age of 91. She was the beloved wife of the late Al Koenders. She was the dear mother of Reed of Kingston, Vincent Dean of Kingston and Sally-Fay (Bruno) Stuben of St. Augustine, Florida. Star was predeceased by her siblings Fay (Jim) McLaughlin and Peter Jacob. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Phonsie, Phillip, Ursula, Stacey, Billy, Deano, Reed and Candice. Will be missed by many family and friends.

A visitation for Star will be held at the James Reid Funeral Home (1900 John Counter Blvd.) on Tuesday July 24, 2018 from 10am – 11:30am followed by the funeral service in the James Reid Chapel on Tuesday at 11:30am. There will be a reception to follow, ending with the burial at Cataraqui Cemetery at 2pm on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Alzheimer’s Society.
