Obituary of John Charles Seale
Seale, John C.
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of John (Jack) Seale after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. John is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Irene (nee Rodgers), daughters Kim Menard (Ben Cassidy) and Tracey Corrigall, as well as much loved grandchildren A.J (Stephanie), Matthew, Grace, and Gabriel. John is predeceased by parents Otty and Luella Seale, and siblings Roy (Jose), Jean Baker (Earl), Ruth Stevens (Ernie), Lorraine Convery (Ray). John grew up in Cataraqui on the family farm, and graduated from K.C.V.I. It was as manager of the S.S. Kresge Kingston store where he honed his sales & management skills before moving into tobacco sales for Tobaccofina covering northern and northeast Ontario. Opportunity knocked, and he accepted a position as General Manager for Eastern Canada with Grant Industries in Ottawa. From there John launched his own business in commercial and residential windows, doors, and overhead doors. Certain that he would end his days with his boots on he continued to take on projects and provided consulting services well into his 70's. After his 'real' retirement John delightedly shared his time with his grandchildren. John loved the outdoors and was an avid angler and hunter, most recently from his former home on the Upper Rideau Lake near Westport. Through his membership with United Associated Canadian Travellers Club he was a consistent volunteer with the Boys & Girls Club of Ottawa. He was recognized for his service by The Knights of the Road as a distinguished quarter century member. A special thanks to the care staff at Providence Manor Montreal 5, and appreciation for their care and affection towards John. A visitation will be held at James Reid Funeral home at 1900 John Counter Blvd, on Thursday, May 24 between 6:00 and 8:00 PM. with a brief visitation prior to the service on Friday from 10:00 - 10:45 AM. Funeral service at 11:00 AM on Friday May 25th in the Chapel at James Reid. Internment at Cataraqui Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society, or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
