Passed peacefully in Kingston, Ontario. 
Emigrated to Canada in 1957 but cherished his Scottish roots. Stalwart husband of Nancy for 66 years. Proud father of sons Stuart and Alasdair and proud grandfather of Colin, John and Constance. 
Former administrator of Pembroke Civic Hospital from 1962 to 1988, a Life Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, and life member of the UK Institute of Healthcare Management. A veteran of the Second World War, and member of the Burma Star Association. 
Staunch Presbyterian. Sportsman, lover of the outdoors, all-weather camper, photographer and winemaker. Avid reader of history, politics and poetry, with Robert Burns a favorite. 
In accordance with his wishes, Jim will be cremated following a private service at the 
James Reid Funeral Home. Friends are invited to join the family at home from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm on Saturday, May 19 to toast Jim's memory.
