Obituary of Shirley M. NORMAN

NORMAN, Shirley M. B.Sc., McGill University, 1959 With dignity and grace, Shirley died peacefully at Providence Manor surrounded by the love of family, on Thursday, February 18, 2016. Shirley (nee Stewart), in her 80th year, beloved wife of Larry for 55 years. Loving mother of Allan Norman (Caroline) of Barrie, Cynthia DeCoste of Bathurst, NB and Jill Norman (Bob MacNeil) of Kingston. Affectionately known as "Gram" to her adoring grandchildren, Steven and Allison; Sam and Sarah; Jackson, Nicholas and Cooper. Shirley is predeceased by her sister Pauline Weston and will be fondly remembered by her numerous extended family and friends. Shirley was a committed volunteer at the Country Store in Providence Manor as well as the various programs at St. George's Cathedral and will not soon be forgotten. As directed by the family, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Boulevard, on Tuesday, February 23, between the hours of 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm. A memorial service will be held at ST. GEORGE'S CATHEDRAL (corner of King and Johnson Streets), on Wednesday, February 24 at 2:00 pm., followed by a gathering for refreshments and shared memories in the church hall. All are welcome. As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to, U.H.K.F. (Providence Manor), Alzheimer Society, or charity of choice, in Mrs. Norman's memory.
