Obituary of Violet Merle CRICHTON

Crichton, Violet Merle, born June 13, 1931, passed away peacefully at Kingston General Hospital, after a valiant battle with Parkinson's disease, on February 18, 2016. She was the daughter of Duncan John McCuaig and Ruth E. McCuaig. She was married to Douglas Alvin Crichton for 57 years. He passed on September 28, 2013. Violet is survived by her loving children Deirdre, Dawn, Darcie Snider (Garry), and Bruce. She is also survived by her sisters Marian, Karen and Linda, as well as five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was an active member of Chalmers United Church. She was also an avid painter and photographer, who loved listening to CBC, reading, and playing Scrabble. She will be sorely missed by family and friends. A service will be held at Chalmers United Church (212 Barrie Street) on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at 2 p.m. followed by a reception in McCallum Hall. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Parkinson Society or Chalmers United Church Outreach Committee would be appreciated.
