1954-2018
On April 26, 2018 Barrie passed away peacefully at Kingston Health Sciences Centre in his 64th year. Barrie will be deeply missed by his loving wife Brenda (nee Langman) of 36 years. Loving father of sons Sean (Elise) and David (Tristan) and Gina his beloved dog and pal. Grandfather to Jack and Everett. Born to Hillis and Irene Sweeney at Almonte Hospital in Almonte, ON. He was predeceased by his father Hillis and sister Brenda (Sweeney) Uden. Survived by his mother Irene and brothers-in-law Mike Uden, Gerry Langman (Grace), Paul Langman (Renee), and sister-in-law Micheline Calder (Larry Bean) and many nieces and nephews.
Barrie was employed by Corrections Canada and worked for many years at Collins Bay Institution as a Correctional Officer and then retired.
The family would like to thank the staff of KHSC for the care given to Barrie and the support we received. Cremation has taken place at the James Reid Crematorium. The family will receive family and friends at a casual visitation on Saturday May 5th, 2018 between 12-2pm at the James Reid Funeral Home and will be followed by a private graveside inurnment for family only. For those wishing, donations to the Kingston Humane Society or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
