Obituary of David Richardson PHIPPEN

PHIPPEN, David Richardson 1938 - 2016 With deep sadness, David's family announces his passing on Friday, February 5th at his home. Loving husband of Margo (nee Thom) for 52 years. Son of the late William Scobel and Edith (nee Coleman) Phippen of Napanee. Brother of John (Jean) and father of Robert (Tomoko), Christopher (Lisa) and Jock (Jessica). Proud grandfather to Samuel and Katherine. A Kingston high school teacher for 33 years, David loved basketball, singing, sailing, canoeing and skiing. He was an avid photographer, rally navigator and protector of The MG. David enjoyed swimming at the cottage on Buck Lake with family and friends. Known for his incredible patience, kindness and generosity, David will be missed by all. Cremation at James Reid Crematorium will be followed by a memorial service in the Chapel of the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Boulevard, on Saturday, February 13, at 2:00 pm. Our respected friend, the Reverend Ken Gies will officiate. A reception and a time for sharing will follow in the Reception Centre. As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, cheques payable to Hospice Kingston for the Hospice Kingston/Providence Care ("The Time is Now" Residential Hospice Campaign), or to the charity of your choice, would be appreciated by the family.
