Obituary of Douglas CLARKE

CLARKE, Douglas Leslie - WWII Veteran - Douglas passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at Lakeridge Health Hospital, Oshawa on Thursday, January 28, 2016 in his 97th year. Beloved husband of the late Mabel. He will be sadly missed by his children Leona Patterson (the late David) of Kingston; Doug Clarke (Nancy) of Whitby; Don Clarke (Colleen) of Oshawa. Loving and proud grandfather of David Patterson (Allison), Adele Jones (Rob), Jackie Cook (Joe), Doug Clarke (Mel) and Don Clarke (Joe) and great-grandpa of Abbey, Natalie, David, Samantha, Samuel, Hailey and Douglas. Doug is predeceased by his brother Terry and sister Moira. Doug was a VWBRO of Queen s Masonic Lodge No. 578, Thousand Island Shrine Club and Canadian Legion Branch No. 631. Visitation will be held at JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Boulevard on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 from 10:00am to 1:00pm. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday at 1:30pm. Interment to follow at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens. All Shriners in club dress. Masonic Lodge No. 578 will gather for a masonic service at 1:00pm on Wednesday, February 3 all sister lodges welcomed. As expressions of sympathy, memorial contributions in Douglas memory may be made to Shriners Hospital.
