Obituary of Theresa WILKS

WILKS, Theresa Nee Martel March 28, 1920 - January 12, 2016 - With great sadness the family of Theresa announces her passing at Kingston General Hospital. Predeceased by loving husband Leonard, sisters Cecile Brousseau (Henri) and Claire Carriere (Gerald) and parents Joseph Albani and Catherine Laura (O 'Byrn) Martel. She will be lovingly remembered by daughters Catherine-Ann Reed (Brian) and Gail Nakayama (Dean) and by her sister-in-law Joan Taormina (Joe). She was the beloved grandmother of Elizabeth Ann Mangrobang (Neric), Shannon Kroeker (Matthew) and Nevada Reed (Ryan Starret) and the great-grandmother of Hanayo, Hiro, Ronon and Zoe. She will be dearly missed by nieces Vivien, Suzanne and Carol-Ann and by nephews Lionel and Marc. Our families wish to thank all the physicians, nurses, and therapists recently involved in Theresa' s care at KGH, HDH and SMOL. We are grateful for the spiritual support, care and friendship provided by the care givers, staff and volunteers at Providence Manor, especially those on Sydenham 3. A funeral service will be held at JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Boulevard on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 11:00am with visitation from 10:00 10:45am. Interment to follow at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, Parkinson Society of Canada, the Arthritis Society or the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
