Obituary of Betty Jean MCKENDRY

MCKENDRY, Betty Jean Peacefully, at the Kingston General Hospital following a lengthy illness, on Friday, January 22, 2016. Betty Jean (nee Joyner), in her 87th year, beloved wife of Harold John McKendry. Dear sister-in-law of Carolyn Anglin (Graham) of Brewers Mills and the late Spence McKendry (Felicity) of Ottawa. Much loved aunt of David McKendry (Karen), Sandra Mundle (Jim), Susan Kenney (Chris), Jeff Anglin (Geralyn), and Scott Anglin (Margaret Anne), and their families. Fondly remembered by extended family and friends. Betty was a dedicated and much loved music teacher, consultant and choral director with the former Frontenac County Board of Education and was a gifted soloist and member of the choirs at both Glenburnie United Church and Edith Rankin Memorial United Church. In accordance with Betty's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in the Chapel of the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Boulevard, on Tuesday, January 26 at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Elizabeth Boehm - Wilson officiating. Family and friends will be received prior to the service from 1:00 pm until 1:50 pm, as well as during a reception in the Reception Centre following the service. Inurnment at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Glenburnie United Church or the Kingston Humane Society, in Mrs. McKendry's memory.
