Obituary of Joan Lappan

LAPPAN, Joan (nee Fowler)
Passed away peacefully at the Kingston General Hospital surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, in her 83rd year.  Born August 14, 1934 to the late Tom and Marjorie Fowler, Joan is predeceased by her beloved husband of 55 years Bill, her infant son Randy and granddaughter Patti.  Survived by her children Tim (Linda), Debbie Bullock (Roger), Rod (Susan), Julie-Ann Barrett (the late Chris), Kathy Briscoe (Don), Bruce (Linda), James (Dianne), Todd (Charlotte) and her sister Lorraine Stevenson (Con).  Nana Joan will be greatly missed by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.  Family will receive friends at the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., on Friday, April 28th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, April 29th at 1:00 pm at Holy Family Parish, (corner of Wiley and Weller) with interment at St. Mary's Cemetery immediately following the mass.  The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of the KGH Kidd 2 ICU for their care of Joan in her final days.  In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy to the University Hospitals Foundation Kingston in Joan's name would be appreciated by the family.
