Obituary of Norma ASHMAN

Mrs. Norma (Mary) Ashman (née Aud), of Kingston, ON, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 8, 2016 at the age of 88 surrounded by family. As anyone that knew her well would already know that she wouldn't wish anyone to be sad at this time but to remember her wildly creative spirit and not to take anything in life too seriously. Here's to chocolate cake for breakfast, sitting on window sills eating lunch, never ending projects fueled by absentmindedness and dreams of magical worlds filled with dragons and fairies. Here's to her love of her 4 grandchildren; Alexis White, Caitlin Allen, Zachary Ashman and Megan Ashman - a little more for Zach cause he was the favorite - and her 2 great grandchildren Arabella and Brantley and how she magically touched all of their lives. Norma was born on May 6, 1927 to parents Arnold & Norma Aud. She married Dr. George Ashman on July 10, 1948 and the couple had 3 children. Norma is survived by her daughter, Julie Ashman; her son, Thomas Ashman; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. George Ashman 2001; her son, George (Chris) Ashman 1972. The cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of life planned for some time in May 2016. The family is grateful for the condolences, in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
