Obituary of Maxine Grace BALL

BALL, Maxine Grace Bell Telephone Pioneer Peacefully, at the Kingston General Hospital after a brief illness with her son at her side, on Monday, January 4, 2016. Maxine (nee Northey) in her 87th year, partner of Arthur Berry and wife of Milton Ball, who predeceased her in 1992. Loving mother of Norman Ball (his wife Connie; nee Ready) of Kingston. Affectionately known as "Granny Ball" to her granddaughters, Carly Pagliarello (her husband Al) of Ottawa and Lauren Ball of Kingston. Maxine retired from Bell Canada in 1985 following 35 years as operator and administrator. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the medical staff of KGH (Emergency Department, Connell 10 and Davies 4, ICU) for the compassionate care provided during her stay. In accordance with Maxine's wishes, cremation at James Reid Crematorium will be followed by a memorial service in the Chapel of the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Boulevard, on Monday, January 11, 2016 at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 am until 10:50 am, and in the Reception Centre for refreshments following the service. Inurnment at a later date at Sandhill Cemetery in Battersea. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made payable to: Queen`s University, (Memo portion of cheque to read Department of Anatomy), or the Shriners Hospital for Children, in Maxine's memory.
