Obituary of Raquel HOUNSELL

HOUNSELL, Raquel (nee Smith)- July 21, 1969 - January 2, 2016 - Passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family and friends in the late afternoon of January 2nd. Raquel, loving mother of Dylan Beattie (Karyssa), Nathan Hounsell and Joseph Langelier and beloved wife of Max Hounsell. Raquel was predeceased by her parents Sherry and Dennis and is survived by her dear sisters Jodi Thompson (Mike), Alicia Lomax and Lesli Gregson (Trent), all of B.C. She is the adored best friend of Franziska Buri (Dom) and will be lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews, in-laws, aunts and uncles and all her extended family. Raquel s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Cancer Centre at the KGH especially Dr. Mates, her family doctor, Dr. Grier, and to her nurse Kim, who provided Raquel with the most amazing compassionate care which allowed her to stay at home with her family. Raquel devoted her life to caring and helping all military families by being involved with O.S.I.S.S. and with the True Patriot Love Foundation both professionally and personally. Raquel s family will receive friends at the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston, on Friday, January 8, 2016 from 11:00 am until 1:45 pm, followed by a service in the Chapel at 2:00 pm.
