Obituary of Katherine HAMMOND

HAMMOND, Katherine Elizabeth (nee White)- Surrounded by her family, peacefully passed at the Kingston General Hospital on Thursday, August 18, 2016, at the age of 87. Katherine, greatest wife ever to Wilfred (Wilf), for 65 years. Loving, kind and the best Mom of Brian, Susan (deceased), Paul (deceased), Judy and Tim (TJ) and his wife Julie. Great spoiler of grandchildren to Kiera Hammond, Leah Smith, Coulter Smith and Chad McCann. Dear sister of Billy (deceased), Gerry White and his wife Irene, and Cecil (deceased) and sister-in-law of Joan. Katherine was predeceased by her parents Bill and Cecelia White. She will be sadly missed by her sister cousins, and by her nieces and nephews. A heartfelt thank you is extended to the nurses, doctors and staff at KGH for the compassionate care that Katherine received. Katherine was an avid crocheter and knitter, for years she donated many baby items to the hospital gift shop. Friends will be received at the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston on Sunday, August 21st from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 22, 2016 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish (490 Days Road). Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary s Catholic Cemetery. A reception will be held at James Reid Funeral Home following the interment.
