Peacefully on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at St. Mary s of the Lake Hospital, in his 86th year, with his devoted wife of over 65 years, Shirley, at his side. Loving Father of Loretta (Ken) Jarrell of Kingston, Monica (Randy) Hartwick of Toronto, Teresa (Brian) Deck of Calgary, Michael of Calgary, Thomas (Robin) of Calgary, Jacqueline (Dean) Shea of Kingston, Kathleen (Todd) Funston of Collingwood and Daniel (Dori-lyn) of Kingston. Dear Grandfather of 24 and Great Grandfather of 13. Predeceased by his father, Alva Kearns and his mother Violet Crowder and his grandson Michael Kearns. Survived by his sister Carol (Gordon) Baron, Balmertown, Ontario and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Visitation will be held at JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Blvd. from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Friday, August 19, 2016. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. PAUL THE APOSTLE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1111 Taylor Kidd Blvd. at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 20, 2016. Rite of Committal to follow at St. Mary' s Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, St. Joseph 's Catholic Church or UHKF (St. Mary' s of the Lake-Palliative Care). The family would like to thank the staff of Rosewood Retirement Home, Providence Manor (Sydenham 4) and St. Mary 's of the Lake, Palliative Care Unit for their excellent care and making Andy' s last days comfortable. We would also like to thank Dr. Goldstein, Dr. Dubin, Dr. Patey, Dr. Stone, Dr. Thompson, Dr. Goldie, Dr. Connidis, Dr. Fernandes and Dr. Truri for their compassionate care.
