Obituary of Maria Carmen MELO

MELO, Maria Carmen - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carmen at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, July 30, 2016. Carmen, beloved wife of 45 years to Carlos. Loving Mom of Alice Melo (Corey Barkley) and Nelson Melo (Delina). Devoted Vavó of Christian, Aiden, Hannah, Olivia (her butterfly) and Campbell. She will be sadly missed by her sisters Gloria Pacheco, Auxiliadora Couto and Mary Felix, and their families. A very special thank you is extended to Dr. Colin MacDonald and to everyone who helped Mom through her difficult time. Family and friends will be received at the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church (1111 Taylor Kidd Blvd.) on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at 11:00am. Rite of committal will follow at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, donations in Carmen's memory may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Canada. Carmen always left a loving impression in the hearts of everyone she met, she will always be remembered and forever missed.
