Obituary of May THOMPSON

Thompson, May Elizabeth (Moore) - Peacefully on July 7, 2016 in her 92nd year. Adored wife of the late Ronald Thompson, cherished mother of Barbara (Frank) Girard and Ian Thompson, beloved grandmother of Alison (Todd) Urton, Joe (Stefania) Girard and Ted (Marnie) Girard. May delighted in her three great grandchildren Natalie Urton, Sam Girard and Henry Girard. May also leaves her beloved younger brother Dennis Davey and Sylvia Davey in England. Auntie May will be remembered with great love by her nieces and nephews Brian (Sandy), Christine (Ron), Linda (Francis) and Kevin and their children and grandchildren. May was the last of the elders of the Thompson-Moore family. Born in Hull, Yorkshire England in 1924, May served in the Women's Land Army during WWII. May and Ron came to Canada in 1953 with two young children and made a wonderful life for their family. May was the epitome of the hard working young mother, both inside and outside of the home. She was a talented gardener and her roses gave her so much pleasure. May loved her dogs and still reminisced about them at the end. She was a devoted Royal Watcher, lover of good fish and chips and a really good cup of tea. British til the end. May's love and caring for all of her family was experienced by everyone. Nothing was ever too much trouble for her in helping someone else. If you needed her, she was always there. May led a full and happy life and will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her. At May's request donations to the Kingston Humane Society or The Children's Wish Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are with James Reid Funeral Home.
