BRACKEN, Beverley Ann (nee Maguire)
It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of Beverley Ann Bracken who died peacefully surrounded by family on June 30, 2016 at Ottawa Civic Hospital in her 79th year two weeks after suffering a brain aneurysm. Bev was born in Whitby in 1937 to Frederick and Gladys (Amey) Maguire and was raised in Camden East. Bev was a devoted and loving wife to her husband Glenn Bracken and cherished mother to Kim Cooper (Doug), Scott Bracken (Penny) and Nancy Fitzgerald (Mike). She was a doting and loving Grammy to her grandchildren, Ashley, Cory, Michael, Kaitlyn, Patrick and Erin. Bev was predeceased by her father Frederick Maguire, step-father Thomas Good, mother Gladys Good and sister Helen Boyce. She is survived by her brother Thomas Good and brother-in-law Dale Boyce. Bev married Glenn Bracken on September 21, 1957 and they settled in Seeley's Bay on the family farm. She was a secretary at M.T.O. for a few years before finding her true calling of raising a family. Bev enjoyed baking, knitting, curling, golfing, walking, card games, spending winters with Glenn at their trailer at Blue Jay Trailer Park in Florida; but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She taught her children how to become great fun loving parents and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. The family express our heartfelt appreciation to the staff at KGH ICU and especially the Neurological team and ICU staff at the Ottawa Civic Hospital. In keeping with Bev s wishes cremation will be follow by a service on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at 12:30 pm, in the chapel of the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston. Bev s family will receive friends on Sunday from 11:00am 12:15 pm before the service and also at a reception following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Beverley's name to Olivet United Church, Olivet Cemetery in Seeley's Bay, or the charity of your choice.
